The Tampa Bay Lightning have had difficulty scoring goals this season. For the game against the Edmonton Oilers, the Lightning employed a different tactic – allow the opposition to score the goals for you.
Down 2-0 going into the third period, Nikita Kucherov was the first to make the Oilers feel their own pain by deflecting the puck off defenseman Brandon Davidson.

About 10 minutes later, Victor Hedman picked up the second of his three points on the night thanks to an on rushing Taylor Hall. Instead of breaking up the pass, Hall broke goaltender Cam Talbot’s heart by inadvertently sending the puck past him to tie the game at 2-2.

The game winner was a dagger off the skate of Darnell Nurse courtesy of Steven Stamkos. Talbot never stood a chance.

This could only happen to the Edmonton Oilers because it’s the most modern-era Oilers way to lose a game ever.
