Henrik Sedin was on fours in a considerable amount of pain after taking a hit into the boards from Mikhail Grabovski in the first period of the afternoon game between the Vancouver Canucks and New York Islanders.
After spending a couple minutes on the ice, Henrik sat on the bench and was attended to by the trainer. The Canucks captain appeared to be favoring his shoulder and rib area.
Take a look at a couple angles of the hit:

Grabovski was assessed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct, thereby ending his night. Sedin stayed on the bench with the trainer for the remaining 1:44 in the first period. He did not return for the second and was ruled out for the rest of the game by the Canucks with an upper-body injury.
Vancouver did not score on the major penalty. They did have an extended power play of sorts because the Islanders forgot to put an extra player in the box to serve out the remainder of Grabovski’s penalty in the second period. No one came out of the box when the penalty was up.
The seriousness of the injury to Sedin is unknown. Player Safety will certainly have a look at the hit, but based on the angles of the hit above, it’s a crap shoot as to if they’ll give Grabovski any supplemental discipline.
